29 faces Day 13

 Today as usual linking to the 29 face challenge as well as Paint party Friday For those arriving from paint party I am now approaching the end of two weeks of faces!! One different one a day, If you would like to take a look at what each day has brought have a scroll down. It is difficult to come up with something new each day, and for me that is the challenge. How to approach drawing faces in new and interesting ways.

Today my inspiration was one of my daughters hairstyle magazines. The models on the pages have such weird and wacky hairstyles I thought it would be fun to try and recreate one of them.

I drew then painted with acrylics onto pre collaged heavy watercolour board. Originally she had blue eyes but they didn't work too well and thought as she had such a mane of lion like hair she would suit lion like eyes.

    I love this. I am amazed how you are able to produce such detailed work on a daily basis. I think this is my favourite face of so far..

    this is wonderful Morag! I know what you mean about the wacky hairstyles in those magazines. When I had short hair I used to buy them and some of the cuts were so 'out there' no one in their right mind would ever actually get their hair that way! I love her eyes - the golden colour is perfect against that wonderful mop of blonde!

    wow, you have been creative. Very nice works, my favourite is 'Stella' beautiful colours and composition. Also I like about your works that they have got your style but at the same time they are all different. Well done with 29 faces challenge. Definitely keep creative and have a lovely week.

    Your faces are gorgeous and you've done amazingly to do one each day! I've been drawing faces recently too, I get an idea but by the time I sit down to draw it goes from my mind! I love the warm colours in this one, that background is so rich I could stare at it for ages!xx

    She does look like a lion! I love her orange eyes and hair. The red background works really well and I like the translucency of the painting has:)

    I haven't seen your work in this style before, and it is stunning. She looks very thoughtful, and the way you have painted the hair is lovely. All so good on the newsprint background of the figure.
    And do you know we have done it again - I have just scheduled a face for early next week of a girl with ...... amber eyes!
    Yes, the pressure to create something different every day, and at speed, really is quite a challenge. Great fun though.
