Wednesdays post showed a bench load of citrasolv papers made by dissolving the ink of old copies of the national geographic.
To answer an earlier question by ' fuzzy' I believe new copies don't dissolve as well, although I can't vouch for that as I have only tried it on old copies bought from charity shops or Ebay.
A dissolved page. |
Soon became this! |
I began to see a tree emerging from the at first abstract shapes. I used acrylics and gold leaf to build up textures, adding modelling paste to add a dimensional element.
Although starting off as an abstract it has now become a landscape. I see water, heather, sea and distant hills and a single lone tree. standing tall.
One tree, wood panel, cirtasolve collage with acrylics and textured elements |
Linking up to paint party friday

ReplyDeleteMorag your tree has grace and such beauty all around it, wild! I can feel the fresh sea and heathery breezes, divine!
ReplyDeleteYour lesson on Citracel and National Geo is fascinating. I have been trying to rid my attic of about 20 years of NG magazines. I keep taking them to the charity places. I didn't think anyone would want to buy them. And your abstract poppy is so beautiful. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love how your gorgeous tree scene emerged and your abstract poppy is marvelous!

Your love for nature is so obvious in your work. I love how you pull things together. The Citrasolve gives such a great result. I wonder if it would work on any colored magazine page.
