My workbench ready for action....
I thought it only fair to wait and photo my results with pages of the national geographic and citrasolv cleaner.
After brushing the pages with the lemon cleaner the ink starts to dissolve making wonderful patterns.
Lovely papers to use for collage or as backgrounds for paintings.
As you can see I have been busy. ;)

ReplyDeleteThis technique looks really exciting and I have yet to try it. I read somewhere that it only works on old copies of National geographic. Is that right?
ReplyDeleteWonderful papers! I bought a bottle of Citrasolv last summer with full intention of creating these but never got around to it. I spied the box of National Geographics sitting in the guest bedroom last week and remembered that they were still on my To Do list. Thank you for the inspiration! Diane #40
ReplyDeleteWow, what interesting work - I've never heard of this technique but it looks fascinating, and the papers you end up with have limitless possibilities - they are just stunning! I am wary of using chemicals after I heated cellulose thinners for some textile printing and started a fire that destroyed about 15 metres of my beautiful and rather expensive silk! Well, that's just clever! You win the prize for the most unusual desk exhibit today :-). Isn't the effect clever though? The abstract-ness will be useful in all kinds of crafting!

Ah now this is one of my all time favorite techniques that I should use more often, pleased to see someone else using it too. We have a product here called Brite Shine and it is used on the mags rims for the cars to clean them, stinks to high heaven but brilliant too for this type of technique.

This is one of my all time favorite techniques we have a product here in Australia that is called Brite Shine and it is used to clean the mag rims on wheels of cars, highly stinky but it does this technique super fast.
