lemon yellows and Island hideaways

Springtime yellows and orange are creeping into my colour palette. Inspired by the beautiful lemon yellow celandines and primrose which blanket the ground.

Island hideaways, wild sewing panels
made with paper cloth, fibres and metallic thread.

Here is a wee sneak peep at what I am working on at the moment...
It is a combination of paper collage and acrylic paint, I have also begun adding moulding paste and seashells.

If you look closely you may notice a Chinese take-away container which I use as a paint palette. ;) They make great palettes as they have lids which keep the paint from drying out, and you get  to eat the vegetable sweet and sour first!!

  2. As always your work is a total delight and each canvas is a little magical world I'd like to live in! - The touches of yellows are beautiful and I think this year the primroses are the best they've been for along time.

I agree with Diana -each canvas is a little world I could easily visit and step in. Thank you for creating those worlds!

  8. These are delightful - there is always so much detail in both the stitching and material as well as the actual design of the piece. Love that you use the chinese take away carton - good idea - I need a flat palette for palette knives though so maybe I could just use the lid!

  13. Love the colors and all that texture - keep us posted. It's always good to make use of something instead of throwing it away - especially when you can eat the contents first!

  15. Wow everything looks so beautiful in your neighborhood! That is a great tip about the Chinese food lids....I consume a great deal of it so I will try this. Very intrigued by your collage. It looks very tactile and is one of those artworks you really have to see in real life and then can touch all the jaggedy shell bits. Happy PPF
