Island hideaways, wild sewing panels
made with paper cloth, fibres and metallic thread.
Here is a wee sneak peep at what I am working on at the moment...
It is a combination of paper collage and acrylic paint, I have also begun adding moulding paste and seashells.
If you look closely you may notice a Chinese take-away container which I use as a paint palette. ;) They make great palettes as they have lids which keep the paint from drying out, and you get to eat the vegetable sweet and sour first!!

Your palette is mesmerizing. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAs always your work is a total delight and each canvas is a little magical world I'd like to live in! - The touches of yellows are beautiful and I think this year the primroses are the best they've been for along time.
ReplyDeleteDear Morag, I cannot even find proper words to describe how beautiful and inspiring is your work!!!!! Magic!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Diana -each canvas is a little world I could easily visit and step in. Thank you for creating those worlds!
All so beautiful and wild! I love your rich colours and stitching techniques all mixed into your art, each piece always feels so special and filled with Scottish beauty!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous work and if you click on the photos you can see the amazing details...Some of them have lovely movement too!! I use old sectioned peanut containers as a paint palette so I can relate!! Such a wonderful series of work!

These are delightful - there is always so much detail in both the stitching and material as well as the actual design of the piece. Love that you use the chinese take away carton - good idea - I need a flat palette for palette knives though so maybe I could just use the lid!
ReplyDeleteLove all the colors you have used here
ReplyDeleteI am really in love with your stunning fiber art- gorgeous details and colors!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. I love seeing what you post each time. What a delight.

Love the colors and all that texture - keep us posted. It's always good to make use of something instead of throwing it away - especially when you can eat the contents first!
ReplyDeletefabulous textures love the palette idea too
ReplyDeleteWow everything looks so beautiful in your neighborhood! That is a great tip about the Chinese food lids....I consume a great deal of it so I will try this. Very intrigued by your collage. It looks very tactile and is one of those artworks you really have to see in real life and then can touch all the jaggedy shell bits. Happy PPF
