Fishing for dreams

The theme for this weeks Collage obsession is Emerald..

Fishing for dreams ( mixed media on canvas )

After last weeks battle with yellow a refreshing change.

Emerald is a colour I love; It evokes feelings of calm, space and clarity. My collage is inspired by dreams. For me Emerald is a very dream-like colour.
I really wasn't sure how or where I was going with this piece, it just sort of evolved.

I started throwing vibrant Emerald paint over the canvas...just to get a feeling for where to go.
Then I used my Gelli plate and a piece of netting to print some paper

I tore up the paper into fragments and used them in my collage.
I used pebeo liners to raise the surface in areas.

After last weeks fight with the tulips I feel much calmer and ready for a creative weekend :)

    1. Thanks Irene, the pebeo gel liner does give a leaded glass type outline. They can be used on just about anything even glass and fabric. I love the metallic ones best.

  10. Oh, I just love your emerald collage! I couldn't help but to pop in at your blog just before going to bed. I so wish I'd had time to play along at this challenge. But even though I didn't, I can still be inspired by the colour in my later works, of course!

I too love the feeling of calm and clarity it evokes. I'm also very interested in trying the Gelli plate one day... but now I have to stop getting any more inspiration today, so that I won't be too excited to sleep. Seeya later :-)

    1. Thanks so much Salla:) I just love my Gelli plate, Im printing all my own papers for my collages now and I think It makes them more 'me' if you know what I mean, It is also so easy to print paper cheaply and easily!
