A late autumn

sketchbook pages

Autumn is milder and later than normal, although recently the winds have picked up and the skies are changing.
There have over the past weeks been crystal clear days where the dark berries sparkle.

And more overcast days where the warm colours are subdued.

The leaves have stayed on the trees longer.

The colours more vibrant.

The brambles are later, some still yet to ripen.

Soon the trees will lose their robes of gold.

  2. Beautiful photos, especially the berries. :) I've been thinking that the colours of autumn are much more vivid this year but I didn't know if I was just imagining it and noticing more this time for some reason. It could be the extended mild weather couldn't it? The sunshine on the gold and copper leaves is breathtaking, it seems sad that they have to go! xx

  6. These are wonderful photos. Are these horse chestnut trees? They have beautiful colors in autumn. Back in my first year in college i saw these for the first time. Our campus were full of these and poplars. The fruits were all over the ground. Wondering why nobody ever ate them, i took one and put into my mouth. It was the most bitter thing i have ever tasted in my life :) So many memories...Lovely sketch with expressive watercolors.Happy PPF :)
