Spring jewels

I have begun a new spring crochet blanket..... inspired by the little flower jewels of April.

And the soft fleece like feel of new Lambs..

I do love spring, new life and light after months of dark and cold.

On my work desk some different jewels of colour. Little pieces of paperclay. Individually cut, moulded and stamped. washed with acrylic paint.

What am I going to use them for?
Well I will reveal soon.  ;)

  2. I love your crochet blanket - reminds me of my Grandmother, but yours has SUCH better colors! And I love your paperclay as well, I delved into that some years ago, made them out of old cookie molds. I made some Christmas ornaments with them but that's about it, can't wait to see what you do!

  8. What a gorgeous post! I love your new crocheted blanket - I never did get beyond the one wonky granny square I made months ago! Those gorgeous paperclay shapes are wonderful - I can't wait to see what you are planning to do with them - they are little works of art on their own!

  13. Morag, I would be interested in knowing how these were made. I saw a wallhanging with some similar pieces and I decided that is what I will use on my 4x2 foot canvas. But I have to make 48 little squares first. These are so beautiful and so individual.

  19. The paperclay pieces are really gorgeous! I'll be sure to pop in later, curious to know what you'll do with them.

Lovely flowers and crochet also. It is still a while before we have narcissi and tulips in Finland. We do have crocus and snowdrops already. Enjoy the spring!

  20. What a lovely posting. Your crochet blanket is beautiful. Just this week a couple that I haven't seen since their first child was born reminded me of the blanket I made as a gift for their daughter. The young lady still uses it! It is not the only time I have been told this story of blankets I have made and given away. It makes me realize how primal a hand made item is. I wish I could knit and crochet but alas, it is not meant to be. Sending you hugs from across the pond. Thank you for your inspiration today. xo
