Summer breeze.

one of my newest mixed media collage paintings.
Now in the skyeworks gallery.

Small strips of paper cut and torn form the grasses. and modelling paste and small pieces of silver flakes form the cow parsley flowers.

I forgot to take many WIP shots, but here are a couple.
I am taking a couple of weeks break so see you in September ;)

Golden eagle

Remember my clay eagle?
Well this is my progress so far.

The eagle is attached to a collaged paper background.

i added lots of gold leaf to both the eagle and the landscape.

I am not sure if it is finished yet so I am propping it up here until I decide :)

An eagle has landed

Trying something new with my air drying clay.

I have made an eagle and am going to try and fix it to this large wooden panel.
Not quite sure how well it will work as it is much bigger than my small mermaid pieces, I will keep you updated on it's progress.

This is a bird of prey I spotted.. high in the sky, drifting on the thermals.

sunshine starfish

Last week I posted my beach pebble sunshine, and here it is finished, unfortunately there hasn't been a lot of sunshine recently so this will have to do instead. I think it looks a little starfish like, curled around the pebble.

it is made from air-drying clay which I fixed with modelling paste.

Seagull panel

I have been busy working on more wooden panels. I love working on wood. It means I can add loads of heavy texture and then sand the surface with a lovely new hand held sander I have. My seagull started off like this a couple of days ago.

I used shades of citrasolv paper for the seagull body.

Then stencilled modelling paste over the surface to create texture, which I then sprayed with iridescent inks.

I sanded the surface, and drew some detail in ink.

Summer Stag

Another of my small wooden panels.
A couple of months back I posted another stag painting and I enjoyed making it so much I thought I would try a similar one.
Easter stag

I forgot to take WIP shots, so I only have one! You can see beside it my new wondertool... a hand held rechargeable sander. It makes sanding the wooden panels so much easier.  ( saves my nail varnish from chipping) :)
