Study in purple ( Conte crayon and pencil ) |
When drawing people I usually do several versions in different mediums to see which I like best. Today I used conte crayons which I like very much. For those who don't know they are a type of chalky pastel, they are small and compact and I find the colours beautiful.

ReplyDeletei like the idea of doing several versions of the same face. i rarely do that. i am sure it is fun and a lot can be gleaned from the practice. i like both versions. your gelli plate face is compelling. did you paint on top of the gelli print? recently i have been using deli paper for gelli prints and then collaging with them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Irene, I painted the face using gouache on the printed paper. Like you I love to collage with the printed papers. If you look at

ReplyDeleteI love that page! Your daughter is very beautiful. And as much as I have seen here she is not just beautiful because she looks like that - she must be beautiful inside as well. And she looks a bit like you.... And the way you have done this page is great.
