Three more pieces of Skye

last week I showed you what I was working on at the moment.
small wooden collaged panels, covered in paper and paint. I call these 'little pieces of Skye'

The butterfly embellishments are made from plastic which I covered in iridescent medium
.

I left some of the butterfly overlapping the edge which shows on this photo.

I covered the finished piece in satin acrylic medium which gives a lovely glass like finish.

No sign of any butterflies yet! :)

  6. It's all so beautiful Morag. You do an amazing job at really completing your collages. I never know quite how to get that finished look with papers and mine always look just stuck on there.

Your scenery is breathtaking as is your art. Have a great weekend!

  7. I love these Skye pieces. I wish I lived closer as I would love to buy one. I'd love to have it hanging in my home. For some reason, I just saw that you lived on the Isle of Skye. So the fairies and mermaids make so much sense. I love thinking of the lore that you must have grown up with. Have a lovely week.

  10. Morag this is so gorgeous! I can only imagine what this looks like in person. This is a piece for pixlr to change saturation and darken slightly then change the colors just to see how gorgeous....you could use printed papers of it for more collage and done up as prints or card. The texture and pattern is so beautiful and inspirational! I love the color so much....fabulous!

  12. These are truly beautiful works of art Morag! I feel their magic just by looking at them through your site, imagine in reality?
Oh, and the answer to your question about the wood circle for the fairy's door is reclaimed wood from an old coaster….just needed sanding.
