WOYWW making marks

On my workdesk today another small canvas. I am still adding texture and scratchy marks to the background . I love texture paste and getting messy.

Some of you may remember this fellow from a few weeks back (Click Here to see how he was made). He is a large collaged piece using paint, paper, ink spray, and machine embroidered flowers.

I loved his face so thought I would do a much smaller canvas concentrating on his little smile. I don't know if Deer smile, but I see no reason why not :)

  1. I like the way he is peeping shyly from the side, and he can certainly smile. Also the gold swirls give nice movement, they look as though they are collaged cord because they have a 3-D look.

  2. He is so cute and I love the textures in the background. Is texture paste the same as modelling paste?

  3. Love the gold spirals...they really enhance the background! And why shouldn't deer be happy? There are loads in the Savernake forest which I live next to. Every time I drive through, I see deer of all sizes and colours - there's a white stag in there. My mate has a photo of it!
