I have been finishing off some more collaged wooden panels..
This one is a combination of gesso, modelling paste, acrylic and collaged papers. I liked the idea of working on a silhouette in amongst a collaged foreground. I used Gelli printed papers and also scratched through to make a textured landscape.The sky was made using stencilled modelling paste and then sprayed with shimmer ink.
I also have been trying more abstract plant forms on wooden panels

This one uses tree bark and also 'Heather flower soft'.
I also used it to finish off my little stag portrait. I thought some he would like some Heather to frolic in :)

Wonderful variety, Morag. Your works on the panels is just gorgeous! I love the effect of the flower soft, something I've never used myself. I'm glad you explained what it was.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast between the silhouetted Monarch of the Mountains and the collaged foreground, very effective. I always love abstract work, and your abstracts are lovely, especially the golden one with the incorporation of natural materials. As you will know, Andy Goldsworthy is a great user of natural materials and he is one of my favourite artists. The colours really glow on this one.

ReplyDeleteso beautiful! Great texture as always too. I have several tubs of Flower Sofft and have sprinkled it into my backgrounds for texture sometimes besides using for adding dimension to flower stamps.

You know what your work reminds me of? Layers of earth. When you drill down or the archeologists take core samples and there are layers of earth...that's what I think of. I LOVE that idea. I hope that isn't an insult because I think it's really neat!! LOVE your work. Thanks for sharing!
