29 Faces Day 24

20 minute sketch

I rarely work in just one medium and even more rarely do I work without colour but today forced myself to do a quick 20 minute sketch in just PENCIL!!! I know.. a shock to my system, i had to try very hard not to add a little colour wash :) Working with a time deadline means you have no time to rub out lines you don't like or fuss over detail and as I was short of time today suited my purpose.

  1. She's lovely, even without the colour! Lots of nice details and good lines :)

  2. A dreamy, reflective look on the face of your dear lady. Your pencil work is marvellous, and it has not suffered at all for being created so quickly. In face it has a beautiful looseness. I would love to see more of your sketches in pencil and perhaps charcoal.

  4. This is very artistic, expressive and fine drawing. I like the playing of lines and his look. It is so interesting. She is looking inside.

  5. It looks great - more than great... I think, it is your daughter again... ?? I understand how difficult it was not to use any colors, but: This one need no colours it speaks without it...

  6. Very nice sketch. Sometimes paring back and keep it simple can surprise and delight!

  7. Amazing!!! I love her and I can't even imagine what a 20 min face I did would look like...or how frazzled I would look after trying :)
