This is this weeks Summer of color piece.
below are the colours of this weeks palette. As you can see I did something a little different this week.
Lavender/grey/plum |
I used a great woodland mask I have and usd only part of it to paste modelling paste onto a wooden panel.
I also used a sequin waste sheet to stencil through circle shapes to add more texture.
Then some spray inks and embossing powder.
The dragonfly is made from silk which I machine embroidered and then stiffened with sparkle modpodge.
I made several wings for use with more projects :)
Linking up to summer of color
and also paint party friday
A lovely piece for SOC. I am loving using the limited palette. That stencil is one of my favourites. It is on my list of must haves.
ReplyDeleteHi kindred..seeing you magical process is remarkable and beautiful! I love how the massive dragonfly-spirit truly adorns the whole piece..like a sacred key that allows you to pass through this amazing realm of soulful beauty! I find your art carries my soul intuitively to places it needs to seek ad explore..a gift you are!

ReplyDeleteVery interesting use of modelling paste. The result is very autumnal...it has that feeling of walking in the woods in England in October with the first nip of frost in the air. And getting back from the walk and needing a nip of whisky. Very beautiful as always.Happy PPF
