Two posts in a day!!!
well I am feeling much better after being under the weather for a few days and now up to full speed and able to post this weeks summer of color piece.
Each week a colour prompt is published over at Twinkle twinkle and artists and crafters scurry away to make something fabulous.
I'm not sure my piece could be called that, but the colour prompt of...
Pink, apple green and a smudge of dark green |
Made me think of flowers....again :)
As if by magic these chrysanthemums were in a vase on my mantlepiece already....
It would be rude not to draw them,
It is tough to just use three colours, I cheated a little and varied the shade of pink a little with some white... I know... slapped wrist!!! :)
I do really like this colour combination and it is one I feel at home with...
Can't wait to see what next week brings.
I agree, three colors is challenging!
ReplyDeletethis is gorgeous, such a wonderful piece.
This is absolutely lovely! I love the loose style to it and yes its really hard to stick to 3 colours-I cheated a little this week too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful flowers! Valerie
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful! I love these colours, too, and hope to make something for this week's prompt at SOC as well.
ReplyDeleteI really love how this turned out Morag, just beautiful. Really love the softness of it and the scratchy drawing underneath.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers Morag :D The originals were obviously there, just waiting for you to paint them :D
ReplyDeleteI agree that we can't be rude, because I would have drawn these beauties if I could draw (grin). You did a marvelous job, and I think the color variation gives them their uniqueness.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. I like that you cheated. This is simply beautiful.

It is a lovely vase of flowers you've made. You're so right about the challenge being hard with the three colors, but each time I see others work ,it doesn't look as if it was hard to do them. I needed some warmth in mine, so I used lots of yellow. Main subject is the colors though.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I don't think it's a cheat. Maybe because I'm always sneaking in a little extra here and there... :) Anyway I think your flowers are lovely and what luck they were sitting right there waiting for you to immortalize them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful use of color! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are lovely, the colours for this weeks challenge were meant for you this week.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
WOW! This is stunning! I love the photo that you used and the beautiful work of art you created using this week's colors!
ReplyDeleteLovely composition and great piece. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo loose, vibrant and pretty Morag. I love how you captured the colors exactly. Such a wonderful illustration!
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING as usual, love seeing your drawings and you have used this weeks colours to perfection :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteHope you feeling much better very soon, hugs :-) x
What a stunning picture, beautifully painted and a lovely composition.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you have achieved the transparency of the vase.
I usually use different shades of the colours, I thought that was OK.
I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather, I hope you're on the road to recovery now. It certainly looks that way from your gorgeous artwork! I'd find these colours challenging but you've done a great job!
